WitnessTree Wellness Program

Most people think of “counseling” as something you need only when everything else has failed, or you are seriously mentally ill.  NOT TRUE! Everyone has relationships, negative memories, stress issues that continually tear at our ability to function at our optimum, healthiest level.  Each of us has a body that alerts us when we neglect its basic needs.  Our psyche alerts us when things aren’t going well emotionally, as well.  When our thinking process become habitually skewed and keep leading us into reactions or behaviors that get us into trouble in our relationships, why don’t we listen? When our energy is sapped by stress, losses, or changes in our lives, why don’t we pay attention and do something to build up our emotional immune system? When we get discouraged, loose hope, or have difficulty finding the energy to face the day, the problem is not a physical one… our emotional and spiritual health is flagging and it is time to do something about it.  Just as we let our bodies become flabby and weak, our psyche suffers from lack of attention and exercise as well.  Much of what becomes wrong with us physically has its roots in our psyche, which includes our emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being. Stress, for example is not an external force—if that were true, the same things would be stressful to all people. Yet we know that not everyone experiences stress in the same way… that is because stress is the internal reaction to the outside event. That makes stress something we CAN control, even when we can’t control the circumstances of our lives.

 Take the Wellness Self Test

WitnessTree now offers a four-point wellness program.

Phase 1:

Free initial consultation to

1.   determine the basic issues of your individual situation

2.   develop a personalized  8-session program to begin to make permanent life-style changes, and

3.   make a commitment to emotional / spiritual wellness.

Note: At this time Camille will make an assessment as to whether regular counseling is required prior to participation in the wellness program. If there is significant healing to be done from torn relationships, trauma, etc., you will enter into phase 2, but the Enneagram will be used to help you heal.  Times of crisis are opportunities for making changes in the way you react to and manage your relationships and circumstances. Healing is required before a program of wellness will be effective.

Phase 2:

Enneagram Exploration to establish your particular patterns of reacting to and interacting with the world.  This is a tool to help us look at habits of thinking and behaving that have prevented you from feeling and functioning at your God-given best. It also helps us identify the unique gifts you have to offer to those you love, to your work, and to the world around you.

Phase 3:

Coaching and guided study to gain further self-understanding (using several tools, including the Enneagram, self-study, journaling, the WitnessTree Resource Library) to learn more about how you came to be the way you are, what habits, assumptions and obsessions you can let go of and free yourself from. During this time you will also become more interested in the Enneagram style of those around you, so that you can improve relationships with those you love, including spouses and children.

This will take the first four to six sessions and get you started on your own wellness path. Exactly how this takes place will depend on individual learning style and level of self-motivation. At this point, the sessions can be spread out so that there is more time for you to work on your own. Your commitments to eight sessions may be reduced to half-hour sessions, designed for support and guidance.

Phase 4:

Spiritual growth is defined as nurturing your spiritual self and your relationship to the Higher Power you look to. Our spiritual life is our higher calling and the exercise of our higher selves as we relate to others and to the world. (How we apply it and practice it externally is called religion). The Wellness Program focuses on your internal spiritual and emotional health; not necessarily how you practice your faith. WitnessTree does not promote any particular denomination.

At this point in the program, you may or may not wish to continue with individual sessions, although most people find that continued contact, even if only occasionally, is beneficial to keep the supportive relationship current. As time goes on, there will be situations in which you need some extra support, and one of the concepts behind this wellness program is that you are never without a place to go when you face some of life’s tougher challenges.

Wellness Program participants have free access to the WitnessTree Resource Library

and are eligible for reduced rates for classes offered by WitnessTree.

Fees

Because this is initially a time-limited program, you control the cost. While an 8-session program is recommended, you decide how long it will take, and how “deep” you want to go.  Unlike counseling, which is generally problem-oriented, requires continual counselor involvement, and keeps you in regular visits until the problem is resolved, the Wellness Program is geared toward YOU making life-style changes with WitnessTree providing the tools and support. Thus, while counseling fees range from $50-$75 per session, participation in the Wellness Program is set at $45 per session.  As you take on more responsibility for your growth, and counselor time is reduced, so is the cost.
